Maryann serves as a Spiritual Director for the Individual Spiritual Direction course and is a supervisor for students in the Spiritual Direction Program. Maryann also facilitates contemplative prayer groups in the Lehigh Valley.
Maryann has a passion for accompanying those who have been marginalized. Early in her career she engaged with a Lutheran ministry devoted to assisting Chilean and Argentinian refugees in New York and then Salvadoran refugees in Los Angeles. She continued to serve the disenfranchised as a public school classroom teacher and guidance counselor for 31 years, first in East Los Angeles, California, and then in Bethlehem, PA.
After retiring from education, Maryann has continued her work with those on the margins as a volunteer with the Ignatian Spirituality Project, which invites people recovering from homelessness and addiction to encounter God’s love, hope and healing through spiritual companionship. Through Laudato Si’ trainings, Maryann is also equipped to work with the Monocacy Farm Project in developing eco-spirituality programs.
