Faculty Spotlight: Beth Toler

Rev. Dr. Beth Toler, MDiv, ThD, LMFT
Program Director for the MACC
Associate Professor of Clinical Counseling

For over three years, Dr. Beth Toler has been instrumental in developing and implementing ACPE’s Spiritually Integrative Psychotherapy (SIP) Certification Program. SIP is a 30-hour continuing education program that equips licensed and other practicing mental health practitioners to ethically and effectively access religion and spirituality as a therapeutic tool within clinical counseling.

In January, Dr. Toler, along with Molly Hicks, MMT, MT-BC, will break ground with their cutting-edge collaboration between pastoral counseling and music therapy. When the Spirit Says Sing is a burgeoning program equipping music therapists to incorporate the psychospiritual, which so often is activated through music. Suddenly, the psychospiritual mixed with the beauty and emotionality of music becomes the sacred work of wellness and self-discovery.
