  • Start your application with personal information
  • Jump to the Reference section
    • Provide name and email address for all reference
    • We’ll email your references with a link to the online reference form they should complete
    • Be sure to check the Application Portal often to see if your references have responded
  • Forward your transcripts to Moravian Seminary
    • Most colleges can send transcripts electronically. Email yours to dangelor@moravian.edu

Essay Questions for Degree and Certificate Programs

Divinity, Chaplaincy, Theological Studies, Formative Spirituality, Biblical Studies

  • A 2-4 page autobiographical essay addressing the following questions:
    • What are two personal or professional experiences that have led you to the decision to pursue this degree? What have you learned from each experience? How do you think they will help as you pursue this degree?
    • Please describe your faith experience or spiritual path. How has your faith experience or spiritual path affected your life story and your decision to pursue this degree?
    • What are your goals after completion of your proposed course of study?

Clinical Counseling

  • A 2-4 page autobiographical essay addressing the following questions:
    • What are two personal or professional experiences that have led you to the decision to pursue this degree? What have you learned from each experience? How do you think they will help as you pursue this degree?
    • Please describe your faith experience or spiritual path. How has your faith experience or spiritual path affected your life story and your decision to pursue this degree?
    • What are your goals after completion of your proposed course of study?
  • A second 1-2 page essay addressing a volunteer or paid experience you have had working with an individual or a group in a helping/tutoring/service role. What have you learned and what personal growth resulted from this experience?

Spiritual Direction

  • A 2-4 page autobiographical essay addressing the following questions:
    • What are two personal or professional experiences that have led you to the decision to pursue this degree? What have you learned from each experience? How do you think they will help as you pursue this degree?
    • Please describe your faith experience or spiritual path. How has your faith experience or spiritual path affected your life story and your decision to pursue this degree?
    • What are your goals after completion of your proposed course of study?
  • A second essay of 1-2 pages describing:
    • Your history and experience of receiving Spiritual Direction;
    • Your process of discerning your call to offer spiritual Direction as it has unfolded over time.
